But owning a dog comes with a lot of responsibility, responsibility to take care of your buddy and to take care of your home as well. The biggest problem with owning a pet is how to keep your home clean. So here we have some cleaning tips for dog owners:

Problem 1. Dog Smell

This is one of the most common problems faced by pet owners. Although this doesn’t create much hassle for the owners themselves but it does affect the guests of owners. So how can you make your dog smell better? Read below to find out the secret to a fresh smelling dog:

Remedy 1: Use baking Soda

baking soda

Baking soda can be the most effective product for absorbing the dog odor not only from clothes but also from surroundings.

Here are some ways to use it:

  • 1. As a Dry Shampoo

  •  2. As an Air Freshener

  • 3. With detergent

  • 4. Removing smell from Carpet & Upholstery

  • 5. Make a Smell Absorbing Spray

Baking soda can be used as a dry shampoo for your canine as it has the potential to absorb the smell and you can comb their hair after applying baking soda to remove insects from their hair.

You can also use Baking Soda as an air freshener. Just open the bottle of the baking soda and let it be there for 5-10 minutes, by doing so baking soda will absorb the foul smell and act as a natural air freshener.

You can also mix 1 Tablespoon of baking soda with detergent while washing your pet’s clothes and some other stuff.  (But, first sprinkle the baking soda on the little area of clothes to check compatibility with clothes.)

NOTE: Never forget to wash Dog’s bedding and bowl regularly.

To remove the smell from carpet and upholstery, sprinkle the baking soda on the carpet or sofa set and just scrub it slowly without putting much pressure, then wipe it clean or you can vacuum clean it.

You can also make a spray mix of Baking soda and Vinegar to make your own smell absorbing liquid. Just mix 1 tablespoon of baking soda with 1 Tablespoon of Vinegar, when foam begins to disappear then add 2-3 cup of lukewarm water in that same spray bottle and shake it well. And you have just got your homemade spray. (You can spray that liquid on rugs, carpet, sofa, bed, or even can be sprayed as an air freshener)
